Lullabies From The Wheels of The Bus
This track was inspired by a number of things.  Firstly full credit for the title must go to Alex Staiger, whom I was in constant email connection with during my trip to the US with the Pet Shop Boys.  The various incidents on the bus are the main inspiration, along with things like the satellite navigation and its voices drifting into the front lounge.  We really did have to brake too hard on a couple of occasions, and the bus driver (Jim Webb II) asked us in the morning if we were all two inches shorter!  I'm lucky to still be here really.

Minneapolis.  Hungover.  Tired.  Awake.
Another disembodied voice from another US city.  Where am I today?  No idea.  The synthesiser-sounding loop is in fact my acoustic guitar treated in Cubase.

5am Wake-Up Crew
The title of this song is another Alex special.  Thanks babe!  I actually wrote this while I was on the road in Garage Band, and felt it would be fun to include it.  Originally I considered adding some spoke words over the top, but it didn't work out, so it's just here in its original form.

When The Snow Fell On Denver
It was very cold in Denver and the air was crisp with the promise of snow.  I was in the back of the truck counting t-shirts and started to reminisce about the past.  This lyric appeared in an early version, but no tune or chords.  When I was back home I finally paired it with a set of chords I'd had knocking around for a while.  I then rewrote the second verse to spice it up a bit. It didn't actually snow in Denver, and (for the record) I have never killed anyone! Poetic license is a wonderful thing.
