Daren Callow is the
singer, songwriter and guitarist with Dare To Be Charlie
an exciting acoustic duo where he performs alongside fellow
singer-songwriter Charlie
Savigar and in the Charlie Savigar
band.
In live shows he uses a TC Helicon VoiceLive 2 voice processor to
create a surprisingly
powerful and panoramic sound. Daren also plays guitar and sings in
Charlie Savigar's own contemporary country rock band.
"One man and
his guitar,
Daren Callow presents us with the vivid imagery and broken emotions
that one would expect to hear from an acoustic rock performer. However,
the great difference is that both the song writing and performance are
a cut above the rest. By using effects on the vocals, the songs take on
a new life of their own and really give you something to think about.
The songs are original and he has avoided the clichés that
make
acoustic rock, at times intolerable. Rhythmic and soulful, Daren Callow
captured the mood and imagination of the crowd."

"Half
power
pop, half
punk, is this the birth of power punk? Daren Callow spits out his self
penned caustic lyrics over a high octane guitar, bass, keyboards and
drums backing. Overall I enjoyed this CD.”
